Hop aboard the Singapore Zoo tram for a 2.2km meandering journey through diverse landscapes and faithfully recreated animal habitats, and get a deeper understanding of the animal world with enlightening audio commentary. Be enthralled by close up glimpses of fearsome predators and lovable small critters. Stopping at several stations around the park, you can hop off for a more detailed look and hop on again to continue exploring the numerous engaging exhibits and different animal zones. It’s the most efficient and convenient way to make the most of a first-time visit. If visiting with inquisitive young children, be sure not to miss the immersive Rainforest Kidzworld play zone, the treetops trail and the live daily animal shows and feeding times.

Wild Africa

Fashioned to recreate the wide open grassy savannah of the African continent, graceful giraffes stand tall while zebras, warthogs and the bizarre looking African painted dog forage for food among the undergrowth. Get up close and be charmed by the always entertaining colony of meerkats. The adjacent big cat enclosure showcases an array of ferocious felines including speedy cheetahs, jaguars, leopards and of course the mane attraction – the African Lion.

Fragile Forest

Step inside a huge temperature controlled biodome and explore the hidden world of a tropical rainforest. Marvel at the sheer diversity of this intricately balanced ecosystem from bizarre critters such as hissing cockroaches, mudskippers, and sloths, to the graceful flight of tropical butterflies, crowned pigeons and lemurs high above the forest canopy. There is a dizzying array of flora and fauna to admire, all designed to educate and engage visitors on the planet’s fragile ecosystems.

Primate Kingdom

A big draw at Singapore Zoo is the incredible antics you will witness at the Primate Kingdom, where these frisky, yet intelligent mammals never cease to fascinate with their manic behaviour. Younger visitors will be enthralled by the ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ speed and athleticism of the Patas Monkey or the bashful, yet vibrantly coloured Vietnamese Douc Langur primate.

Great Rift Valley of Ethiopia

This award-winning themed land depicts the natural phenomenon of East Africa’s Great Rift Valley, complete with faithfully recreated tribal villages amid rugged terrain and waterfalls. The main attraction here is the troupe of energetic Hamadryas baboons, which like to show off their athletic prowess by performing handstands and somersaults! Watch out for the ultra-competitive Nubian Ibex mountain goats where males lock horns to assert their authority on the herd and beware the pungent smell of the otherwise cute looking Banded Mongoose.

How To Go Singapore Zoo is located at Mandai Lake Road, a 30-minute drive from the city.By public transport take the MRT on the North-South (Red) line to either Choa Chu Kang (NS4) or Ang Mo Kio (NS16) and take a connecting public bus service to the zoo. The dedicated Safari Line 1 bus departs from Safari Gate at Suntec City mall in the city on Fridays, Saturdays and eve of public holidays. One way trips are priced at S$7. The
